Training future investors to support diverse founders and alternative capital

RAIN, an initiative of Startup Tucson and it's many regional partners, is working to build a local and diverse investor pipeline for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southern Arizona. We aim to fuel the growth of the next generation of Southern Arizona startups by growing the investor pool for local startups to include investors from all backgrounds. Our goal of improving access to capital is especially targeted at bridging funding gaps for businesses led by BIPOC and under-represented founders.

Community Investment Corporations acknowledges the sovereignty of Native Nations and acknowledges the twenty two federally recognized Indigenous tribes of the state of Arizona and those who inhabit Pima County. We honor the tribal nations who have served as caretakers of this land from time immemorial and respectfully acknowledge the ancestral homelands of the Tohono O’odham Nation and the multi-millennial presence of the Pascua Yaqui tribe within Pima County. CIC strives to disrupt systems that perpetuate oppression and create a better life for residents of Southern Arizona.
